Joint and coordinated activities
Because the Rock School students cannot safely work together in one location in Mitrovica, the Rock School organizes three major joint events per year. During the rest of the year, students coordinate their message, image and concert dates through email and Facebook.
Skopje Summer School
Every summer, some 24 Rock School students and their teachers travel from Mitrovica to Skopje, Macedonia, for a summer rock school. With two Summer Schools so far, nearly two thirds of the Rock School's students have participated. During the Summer School, students form mixed bands and work together towards a major open-air concert. Their teachers work with trainers from the Fontys Rock Academy (Tilburg, NL), to create a program of bandcoaching and master classes. The Summer School is the highlight of the year, kicking off a fresh school year with an enormous amount of energy and rock'n'roll.

Teacher training in Tilburg
Every winter, the Rock School's teachers travel to Netherlands for a training week at the Fontys Rock Academy. At the Rock Academy, they receive teacher training and work together on the joint development of the Rock School as a mature pop and rock institution. The Fontys Rock Academy organizes group lessons and individual workshops and master classes for the teachers from Kosovo. Rock Academy Training in Mitrovica
In May/June of each year, a team of Fontys Rock Academy trainers visits the Mitrovica Rock School to work with the Rock School staff on bandcoaching and rock music education. The training is intended to provide the expertise that is unavailable in the Kosovo region. It is also the first opportunity for the trainers who have worked with the team in Skopje and Tilburg to experience the environment in which the Rock School operates.
