From November 30 to December 6, 2008, the band coaches
and coordinators from Mitrovica were offered a week of
master classes and didactic training at the Fontys Rock
Academy in Tilburg, the Netherlands. The week was organized
to hone the musical and pedagogical skills the coaches
need as music teachers in the Mitrovica Rock School.
Lesson Plans
At the Rock Academy, the teams from the North and South
branches of the Rock School created lesson plans for working
with students of different ages and different levels of
musical skills. They also discussed a long-term strategy
for developing the Rock School, and made plans for achieving
long-term self-sustainability.
About the Rock Academy
The Rock Academy offers various educational methods, such
as lectures, project-based education, individual coaching
and group training in the particular field of study, workshops
and training courses. The students’ mastery of competencies
is evaluated via assessments, which are an integral part
of the learning process.
